Method
The method use for The ‘Why’ Game is extremely simple, the basic concept is that you just keep asking “why” until you can’t anymore.
Step 1:
Start with a prompt, problem or fact such as:
- Our customer satisfaction rate is 20% lower than it was last year
- Residents are unhappy with the latest policy change
- Sales are down 7% this quarter
- Our latest product release sold out and we could not fulfil orders
- Whatever problem/challenge you’re facing right now
Step 2:
Write that statement or problem on a whiteboard, flipchart or presentation slide.
Step 3:
Keep asking “why” to each response you or your group responds with. Keep asking why until there are no more reasons.
